You either rub it between your hands and then apply to your body or use a wash cloth. If you use directly on your body's skin it will scratch you. It probably shouldn't be called soap. There is no soap in it and it does not lather. It's pure salt. The salt kills the bacteria on your body instantly. It does remove body odor. When you use it you will think you are doing absolutely nothing because there is no lather. But if you taste your hand after rubbing the bar you will know that you are getting plenty of salt on your body. The bar lasts a long time if you keep it dry between showers. I've used an entire bar now for showers and have used nothing else during that time. I am happy with the product. It does not dry your skin out. If it works like that good for you.I bought it knowing that it was just a soap bar shaped chunk of pink Himalayan salt. Perfect for placing in a survival/camping/outdoor kit. Sort of like a salt lick for humans. Use a knife and shave a bit off for campfire cooking. Lick it for a burst of salty goodness after sweating all day on the trail in the hot sun. Ground up salt gets damp and takes up a lot of room compared to a solid block. Plus, I like the flavor of the pink salt and use it in other forms for cooking at home. I could have bought a rough chunk or a Himalayan salt lick for horses, but this is just right for a human sized personal survival salt source and the price isn't far off from other chunks of salt this size. I use mineral crystal deodorant stones anyway and thought this would be similar. Not quite, the deodorant stones have other minerals added to the salt that make them effective. This is pure salt does some good but does not last like a deodorant. But I did come up with a great use for this product sense it is 100% salt, making a nasal salt rinse. I wet the bar and my hands, cup one hand with water and roll the bar around in it. Remove the bar and sniff up some of the water and blow my nose, repeat several times. It is better than a Neti pot. No mixing and no pot required. |
