Both Manuka Honey and Propolis have a reputation for their antiseptic and antibacterial properties. For hundreds of years, Propolis has been used as a natural healing agent. Propolis is a waxy substance collected by honey bees which contains phytotonzides. Phytotonzides are believed to contain immunity factors, which when used internally, stimulates the body and gives it a natural resistance to diseases (a natural antibiotic). The hexagon/honeycomb shape of the soap is not only a nice touch in keeping with the honey theme but it actually makes this soap super-easy to grip. Regular bar soaps slip out of my hand constantly in the shower but not this one! It has a pleasantly mild, natural smell. Of course, you're not going to spend $8 for one piece of soap no matter how cute the packaging or shape, or how pleasing the scent, or how ergonomic the design. I am allergic to some smells, and some strong perfumes, but this doesn't bother me, actually I like it, although it is strong enough that it would interfere with a perfume.
