Product Description

In 1916, the Keds brand was introduced by the U.S. Rubber Company as the first national athletic and lifestyle footwear brand. At this time, the shoes were called sneakers, a term invented in late 1916 because the rubber soles made the shoes quiet. Worn by Olympic soccer players, scores of National and International tennis champions, and many college athletes, Keds was coined the shoe of champions because of its reputation as America's premier athletic brand. Not only was Keds a leading athletic brand, it was also the brand of choice for leading style icons due to its classic, stylish, and authentic characteristics.

Amazon.com Product Description

What do you call a fun "laceless" slip-on with tons of character and style? Not Too Shabby, of course, and that's exactly the preppy casual vibe this classic sneaker brings to your wardrobe. It's a true pleasure to wear with a soft fabric lining, a more secure heel, a roomier toe and improved arch support.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super Comfy, But Runs Very Large, April 14, 2011

This review is from: Keds Women's Not Too Shabby Laceless Slip-On Fashion Sneaker (Apparel)
I was looking for a casual slip on for the Spring/Summer and was so excited to see Keds making a comeback. Amazon had the best price when you consider shipping charges. I received them quickly, but was disappointed to discover they were too big. I normally wear a 6.5. I tried them on at a local store and 6.5 was too large. The store didn't have any smaller sizes, so I ordered a 6 assuming that would be fine. WRONG. I put the 6 on and walked right out of them. It's because they don't lace up. The hidden elastic in the tongue allows the shoe too much give. However, they were really comfy. The insoles felt amazing. So, I am returning and ordering a 5.5. Can't wait to get them so I can starting wearing them!

UPDATE: The 5.5 Keds fit perfectly. They needed a little breaking in, but after a few outtings I was able to wear them all day without any issues. Love em!

First, I'd like to thank Sarah M. for her helpful review. I, too, wear a 6.5 but ordered these Keds in a 5.5 (based on her notes) and they fit perfectly. I will say that I often wear a size 6 as well as a 6.5, so if you are a solid size 6.5 (for instance) you might want to consider ordering the 6 instead of 5.5.

I've worn these several times now and have walked a bit in them and they are extremely comfortable. There's sole support and they are even a little "bouncy." I haven't gotten any blisters, but I've been careful about not wearing them too long and too often until they're broken in.

I will say that the elastic tongue does make for a snug fit. They are comfortable, but I would think that for someone with a slightly wide foot, it might be too tight around the tongue. Also, I noticed that the fabric around the elastic tongue "pulls" so that sometimes you can see the white elastic showing. No big deal, but it makes for a little sloppier look (and is part of the...
